Firearms Academy of Seattle Tactical Training Range, east of Chehalis, WA

This 40-hour course of instruction features Massad Ayoob in person. Classroom instruction consists of lecture, as well as fielding your questions on topics including--

Assault prevention and intervention
Psychological preparation for violent encounters
Management of deadly force attacks
Understanding and surviving the aftermath of using force in self-defense
Tactics for home defense
Street gunfighting tactics
How to take a criminal suspect at gunpoint
Selection of guns, ammunition and holsters
Justifying your actions in court
When the armed citizen can and cannot use a gun in self-defense . . . and much, much more.


Live-fire instruction on the range teaches Ayoob's StressFire method of defensive handgunning.

Techniques that thrive under stress instead of falling apart
Grip and stance that increase strength and speed
Techniques to control hard-recoiling handguns
One-handed shooting
Speed techniques for close-quarters
Students complete a police-style qualification shoot
Course not suitable for beginners. Applicants should have completed our Defensive Handgun training or equivalent course elsewhere.

Due to the nature of the instruction, we must require that students have a valid, state-issued permit or license to carry a concealed weapon, or a letter from your local law enforcement agency showing that they have performed a background check on you and that you have no criminal history.
