Precision Rifle 2
Open only to graduates of the FAS Precision Rifle-1 course or certified police or military snipers, this 2-day class builds upon the shooter's existing skills, and challenges the rifle marksman to solve shooting problems.
Most of the course will be focused on presenting a variety of problems that one might encounter in the real world, including:
- target identification
- moving targets
- rapid fire precision shot-making
- varying distances and positions
- accurate shot placement from 50 to 400 yards
- exercises in both daylight and low-light conditions
NOTE: This course runs late into the evening on Saturday and starts up again Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Students should consider camping or staying at the range facility with sleeping bag and pad to sleep in the classroom, or RV or tent.
Student will be required to present a state-issued license to carry a concealed handgun, military or police identification or other form of background check prior to participation.

Precision Rifle 2 Equipment List
- M.O.A. bolt or semi-auto centerfire rifle with sling.
- Good quality click-adjustable scope with target-style knobs.
- 250 rounds match grade ammunition (NOTE: Do not skimp on ammunition. Military surplus ammunition is NOT acceptable.)
- Gun cleaning equipment for your rifle. NOTE: Guns will be cleaned approximately 10 times during course.
- Portable shooting mat.
- Ear protection (both ear muffs and foam plugs) and wrap-around safety glasses (eye protection).
- Flashlight with extra batteries.
- Clothing appropriate for a considerable amount of time outdoors.
- A sleeping bag, foam sleeping pad, and your other personal amenities for use if you choose to stay
- Notebook and pen.
- Please bring food and beverages sufficient for a full 36 hour period.
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:
- Spotting scope.
- Bipod.
- Rifle data book (if you don't have one, don't go buy one.)
- A copy of Ultimate Sniper by Major John Plaster
- This book is highly recommended reading and will answer many of the questions you may now have about precision marksmanship.
- Laser rangefinder (if you don't have one, don't go buy one.)
